Monday, seniors Breck Terpstra and Claire Cunningham along with sophomore Ellie Nemeth were invited to attend Valparaiso Rotary Club's weekly meeting. Breck and Claire were highlighted at the meeting as local students who were making an impact, and Ellie was introduced as a member of Rotary's RYLA group. Congratulations to all on their accomplishments and for representing KHS!


Earlier this week, some KHS students had the privilege of going to visit the Ironworkers 395 Pre-Apprenticeship program. Students got the opportunity to try out some welding techniques and explore what a career as an ironworker might look like!




A huge shout out to our KHS DECA members. We had a very successful competition this past weekend. Congratulations to Sophia Heaton and the team of Breck Terpstra, Jenna Hood and Lillian Earle on their impressive Honorable Mention finishes. Congratulations to Tru Henrichs on placing 2nd in her event and earning a spot to compete at the International competition in Orlando, Florida in April. And lastly, congratulations to our FIRST ever state DECA officers-- Tru Henrichs- Region 1 President and Daisy Nicolas- VP of Career Development. Mrs. Earle is extremely proud of how all 12 members competed and represented KHS! Well done, KHS DECA.


Members of KHS Student Council traveled to Valparaiso High School today to participate in the Porter County Leadership Council workshop. Students from all over Porter County are working together to develop their leadership skills (and have some fun too!)










Congratulations to KHS History teacher Mr. Breininger on being selected by Cavanaugh and Nondorf Orthodontics in Valpo as an influential educator. Mr. Breininger was nominated by a student for going above and beyond both with his teaching and displaying caring and empathy toward all students. Congratulations Mr. Breininger on this much deserved award!

Revised 2025 School Board Work Sessions and Business Meeting Dates


This past Friday, Some of our KHS Seniors traveled to IUN to take part in the Traveling Oral Argument. Students got the opportunity to interact with local judges and see a little bit of their government class come to life.

Students who earned all A's during the second quarter enjoyed a breakfast this morning served by our wonderful kitchen staff! Congratulations students on your accomplishments! Thank you to the kitchen staff for preparing and serving a delicious breakfast!

Revised 2025 School Board Meeting Dates


Congratulations to Mrs. VanKley, KMHS science teacher on being awarded the grant from the Cheryl Lyn Welterweight Family Charitable Foundation. Way to go Mrs. VanKley!


East Porter County Schools will be closed tomorrow, January 21st, due to forecasted extreme wind chill temperatures.
Tomorrow will be an asynchronous eLearning day. Students will have access to assignments and activities online through Google Classroom.
