Summer Learning Challenge

The Summer Learning Challenge has been created to help foster your student's love of learning, create opportunities for growth and discovery, and help your student stay sharp through the summer.

There are two distinct areas to the challenge:

SUMMER READING

Research shows that students who read regularly perform better in school. Each student is asked to read or be read to for 20 minutes daily. Record the reading for each week on the calendar by checking off each day.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES

There are so many fun ways to learn during the summer months, and many of them may already be on your list of things to do. The calendars below contain daily activities for students to keep them curious and engaged throughout the summer months.

Summer Learning Challenge Grades K-3

Summer Learning Challenge Grades 4-8

Track your student’s summer learning, including reading and learning activities, by initialing each box to indicate completion and return the completed Summer Learning Challenge Form to your student’s teacher by Friday, August 18, 2023. Students who complete and return their forms with the indicated number of items completed each month will be invited to participate in a fun Summer Learning Challenge Ice Cream Recess.
